Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship scalable distributed data applications and platform components.
- Integrate open-source software with Apple’s internal ecosystem.
- Develop cloud-based applications supporting data exploration, analytics, reporting, and production models.
- Tune and debug code, support production applications, and assist application end users.
- Collaborate with internal customers to understand requirements and improve platform workflows and features.
- Contribute to data insights, metrics, KPIs, and basic ML use cases including anomaly detection, forecasting, and generative AI.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Programming experience with at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
- Knowledge of BI concepts and implementation experience using cloud databases such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Experience developing optimized SQL, procedures, and semantic processes for distributed data applications.
- Three or more years of experience building enterprise-level data applications on distributed systems is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes cloud compute and database services, RESTful services, ETL, queues, notification services, and platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Java, Spark, Kafka, data visualization tools, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving is preferred.
