Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and hands-on develop complex backend services and cloud infrastructure for a mobile platform.
- Own backend services and infrastructure while driving technical decisions with platform teams and other stakeholders.
- Define quality, performance, and architecture standards for products at stages including proof of concept, MVP, and scalable production.
- Develop and optimize APIs and microservices and deploy them on Kubernetes and AWS.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure processes with infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Collaborate with mobile developers, Product Owners, UX/UI designers, platform teams, management, and data scientists.
- Mentor and coach colleagues and contribute to end-to-end product ownership from architecture through operation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in backend development with Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java.
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Practical experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Deep understanding of microservice architectures, API design, and cloud-native patterns.
- Ideally, experience with data modeling and designing scalable database structures.
- Good German and English language skills.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and proactive ownership skills.
- Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues is expected; corporate and startup experience is desirable.
- Experience with data-driven applications and collaboration with data scientists is desirable.
