Responsibilities
- Own feature development end-to-end, from problem framing and scope definition through production deployment and long-term maintenance.
- Define product scope with product managers and focus on customer and user problems.
- Drive technical decisions and guide engineers on architectural choices.
- Prototype, ship, observe user feedback, and iteratively improve features.
- Use AI tools and agentic coding workflows to increase development impact and explore suitable AI-powered product opportunities.
- Reduce technical debt, automate workflows, and document technical decisions and runbooks.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional teammates.
- Build innovative energy-market solutions for the Heartbeat virtual power plant.
Requirements
- Solid backend engineering skills and a strong understanding of distributed systems.
- Experience with at least one frontend framework; TypeScript experience is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
- Ability to own features from an initial problem statement through shipped and maintained product.
- Product and customer mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Proactive communication skills, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to clearly communicate in written and spoken English.
- Excitement about using AI tools, including agentic coding workflows.
- Preferred experience includes Flutter or mobile development, data engineering fundamentals, BigQuery or data pipelines, energy systems, IoT, or climate tech.
- Bonus qualifications include German language skills, experience building AI-powered features with LLMs or agents, and startup or scale-up experience.
