Responsibilities
- Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build and ship production-grade backend software and containerized microservices.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and contribute to open-source technologies such as Spinnaker and Zookeeper.
- Design systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows and maintain shared system context for reliable AI operation.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Resolve complex technical issues, improve service availability and resilience, manage technical debt, and participate in on-call operations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend software development experience.
- Deep programming knowledge in Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development.
- Experience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.
- Experience with distributed database systems; relational database experience such as PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Demonstrated AI-first engineering practices, including experience using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to create precise, structured prompts and reliable system context.
- U.S. citizenship, work on U.S. soil, and ability to meet applicable customer and government screening standards, including CJIS screening with fingerprint scan.
