Responsibilities
- Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build and ship production-grade software, including microservices and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Use AI development tools and advanced prompt engineering to produce secure, optimized, and reliable code.
- Develop and maintain shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and standards for AI-assisted engineering.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Own and operate critical services, balance live-site management with feature delivery, and reduce technical debt.
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve complex issues affecting service availability, resilience, and performance.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- At least 3 years of backend software development experience is required.
- Deep programming knowledge in Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby is required.
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service is required.
- Experience with critical infrastructure services such as monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications is required.
- Experience with distributed database systems and relational databases such as Postgres is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in development workflows is required.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to create precise, structured prompts and reliable system context are required.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens operating on U.S. soil and able to meet applicable customer and government screening standards, including CJIS screening with fingerprint scanning.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development is requested.

- The stated base salary ranges are $117,200-$176,700 annually, or $141,200-$194,200 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas; bonus, equity, and benefits may be separate.
