
Lead Java Software Engineer

- Lead complex, companywide technology initiatives through the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, resilient, cloud-native applications.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review large-scale software solutions using modern engineering practices.
- Develop and influence companywide engineering standards, best practices, architectural patterns, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Evaluate application architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence for strategic and tactical business objectives.
- Collaborate with architects, technical experts, senior technology teams, product owners, business stakeholders, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
- Lead projects and teams or serve as a peer mentor by providing technical guidance, conducting reviews, and promoting engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade full-stack applications using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- 2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases such as Mongo or Cassandra.
- 1+ year of experience leveraging Generative AI technologies and AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Devin, or Claude.
- Preferred qualifications include Google Cloud, Azure, AWS Associate-level, or OpenShift Container Platform certification or experience.
- Preferred experience includes Kafka, Pub/Sub, real-time streaming applications, JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, Docker, Kubernetes, application observability, secure software development, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.
