Base Salary
$147k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate reliable, secure, scalable cloud-native applications and services.
- Own complex features and technical initiatives from problem definition and architecture through production and continuous improvement.
- Translate customer and product challenges into technical designs and implementation plans.
- Make architecture decisions balancing scalability, reliability, security, maintainability, delivery speed, and technical debt.
- Use AI coding assistants, coding agents, and AI-enabled workflows to improve development, testing, debugging, documentation, code review, and operational support.
- Build maintainable APIs, services, and systems; establish testing, observability, monitoring, and operational processes.
- Diagnose production issues and lead incident investigation, resolution, and prevention.
- Lead technical design discussions and communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Reduce technical debt, improve developer experience, automate repetitive work, and provide code and design reviews.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate across teams to solve broader technical and product problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and operating production systems.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages.
- Experience designing APIs, services, distributed systems, or cloud-native applications.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, debugging, and production operations.
- Understanding of scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing engineering decisions without formal authority, and mentoring engineers.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams, along with a product mindset.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools and workflows while maintaining accountability for quality and outcomes.
- Preferred experience with AWS or another major cloud platform; containers, serverless architectures, event-driven systems, infrastructure as code, or distributed data platforms.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, LLMs, agents, RAG, tool calling, MCP, or AI APIs.
- Healthcare, regulated-environment, or sensitive-data experience is preferred.
