Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and hands-on development of global fiat payment rails, including ACH, RTP, FedNow, Request for Pay, and SEPA.
- Architect, implement, and scale API integrations with banking partners and third-party payment processors.
- Design and build treasury management software for programmatic liquidity management and automated balance transfers.
- Develop internal operational tooling for reconciliation, automated alerts, financial operations, and compliance reporting.
- Build software in an event-driven microservices environment, primarily using Golang.
- Work with platform engineers to establish new services and scale existing infrastructure.
- Respond to production issues and alerts to maintain high availability of payment gateways.
- Communicate with banking partners and client technical teams to resolve complex integration issues.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on payments, fintech, or banking-as-a-service infrastructure.
- Deep production experience with Golang.
- Extensive understanding of traditional fiat networks and clearing systems, including ACH, RTP, FedNow, SEPA, and Swift.
- Strong SQL skills and experience designing complex schemas for high-throughput, ACID-compliant financial ledgers.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining resilient integrations with bank APIs and third-party payment processors.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and independently solve architectural problems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience with banking-as-a-service, brokerage-as-a-service, or payment-as-a-service businesses is preferred.
- Experience building treasury management or automated ledgering systems from scratch is preferred.
- Experience with digital assets and crypto infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience with distributed systems design and messaging frameworks such as Kafka, ZeroMQ, or NATS is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, resourcefulness, and comfort working with ambiguity are expected.
