Responsibilities
- Build software and firmware deployed on Verkada customer devices.
- Own the full engineering cycle, including scoping, architecture, low-level design, trade-off analysis, development, testing, and production delivery.
- Debug and solve complex problems while building reliable, performant, and sustainable products.
- Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to build and ship customer-facing features.
- Mentor other engineers.
- Contribute to other parts of the stack, including backend services, as interested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least four years of work experience in an embedded engineering role.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Go.
- Experience owning software features or projects end to end through production launch is a major plus.
- Experience developing software for hardware products and working with low-level interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and UART is preferred.
- Working knowledge of FreeRTOS and Embedded Linux is preferred.
- Experience with networking and wireless communication protocols is preferred.
- Experience programming in Go and Python is preferred.
- Basic electrical engineering skills, including reading schematics, are preferred.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
