Base Salary
$160k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and architect decoupled, horizontally scalable, low-latency, high-throughput services and microservices.
- Write and refactor clean, production-ready code for critical paths as a primary individual contributor.
- Use profiling, tracing, and APM tools to diagnose memory, CPU, latency, and resource bottlenecks.
- Optimize data flows, database schemas and queries, serialization, indexing, and multi-tier caching strategies.
- Partner with cloud infrastructure teams to align software design with AWS architecture and resource boundaries.
- Lead design and code reviews focused on architecture, concurrency, and algorithmic efficiency.
- Implement micro-benchmarking, load-testing, and stress-testing workflows in CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with platform, data, and product engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience using Python, GoLang, Java, or C++.
- 4+ years of experience designing, building, and evolving scalable distributed microservices architectures.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving performance issues involving memory leaks, CPU bottlenecks, and database or I/O serialization delays.
- Hands-on experience with profiling, tracing, and APM tools such as Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, pprof, or CloudWatch.
- Strong database optimization expertise, including SQL/NoSQL queries, indexing strategies, and multi-tier caching with tools such as Redis or Memcached.
- Preferred experience with AWS or GCP compute, memory, and networking boundaries.
- Preferred experience establishing micro-benchmarking, load-testing, and stress-testing practices using Locust, JMeter, or k6.
- Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, multithreading, memory management, and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through design reviews, rigorous peer reviews, and mentoring.
