Responsibilities

  • Develop tactical autonomy software for unmanned platforms across air, land, sea, and space domains.
  • Implement and test behaviors for multi-agent coordination, target engagement, reconnaissance, and survivability.
  • Work across requirements capture, design, implementation, verification, and validation throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Architect scalable autonomy behaviors and software subsystems that interface with vehicle and mission-system components.
  • Drive technology roadmaps, software reuse, capability evolution, and product-line engineering across projects.
  • Collaborate with vehicle integration teams, external teams, and operational subject matter experts to align system interfaces and deliver capabilities.
  • Act as a software engineering subject matter expert and represent software priorities in multidisciplinary stakeholder environments.
  • Own software-system requirements, roadmap management, coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, set technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and build team capability.
  • Travel up to 20% to work with end users and other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in production-level C++ software development.
  • At least 7 years of experience in software subsystem scheduling and integration, behavior planning, task and resource allocation, motion planning, optimization, flight controls, or related areas.
  • Experience with collaborative software development tools for version control, issue tracking, code reviews, and release management.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, set technical direction, and manage project lifecycles from concept to deployment.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for an entire software system and manage stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmaps, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and build team cohesion and capacity.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred experience spanning technology readiness levels and transitioning research-grade concepts to operational systems.
  • Preferred experience with mission-systems integration, integration events, flight demonstrations, collaborative mission planning, behavior planning, synchronized teaming, motion planning, weapons target assignment, sensor-target pairing, collision avoidance, geofencing, safety monitoring, and multiple operational domains.
  • Preferred experience with ROS, OMPL, optimization solvers, simulation tools, AFSIM, NGTS, navigation and communications systems, systems engineering methodologies, and high-assurance software processes such as DO-178C or equivalent MIL-STD standards.
