Senior Open-Source Python Engineer, ML Developer Tools - US Remote

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core features across open-source libraries for ML developers.
- Architect complex Python projects and frameworks focused on scalability, reliability, and ease of use.
- Grow early-stage libraries by defining APIs, writing demos and documentation, and driving developer adoption.
- Build real-time streaming and networking capabilities for Gradio and related tools.
- Collaborate with open-source contributors through code reviews, discussions, and community support.
- Integrate modern frontend technologies into Python-based web applications.
- Contribute to the evolving technical direction of the developer tools portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
- Experience architecting complex Python projects or frameworks.
- A track record of taking early-stage libraries or products from first users to broad adoption.
- Professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Professional experience with a modern frontend framework such as React or Svelte.
- Experience core-contributing to or maintaining open-source software projects.
- Preferred: experience with real-time audio/video streaming or networking, including WebRTC or WebSockets.
- Preferred: familiarity with pipecat, LiveKit, FastAPI, or Starlette.
