Responsibilities
- Deliver requested Windows features for commercial customers and partners.
- Design and develop software and services at scale.
- Determine user requirements with Windows stakeholders and identify dependencies.
- Create design documents and implement code for products, services, and features.
- Break larger work items into smaller tasks and provide estimates.
- Provide technical leadership, foster relationships with partner teams, and mentor other engineers.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual during on-call operations and monitor systems for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products and promote consistent monitoring and operations at scale.
Requirements
- Software engineering experience sufficient to design and implement product, service, or feature code with limited oversight.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams to determine requirements and dependencies.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers.
- Ability to participate in on-call monitoring and address simple service or product problems.
- Commitment to maintaining current technical skills and applying modern engineering practices.
