Base Salary
$170k - $231k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction for Chainguard Repository's customer-facing registries and APIs.
- Design, build, and operate high-availability backend services in Go.
- Lead efforts on scalability, reliability, observability, and load testing for production systems.
- Drive technical decisions around repository architecture and operational patterns.
- Collaborate with engineers across various teams to create a cohesive repository experience.
- Mentor other engineers and enhance design and code review processes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems.
- Strong experience in Go or deep backend systems experience with the ability to learn Go quickly.
- Experience with customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries or artifact repositories.
- Proven ability to deploy and manage services in production with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Comfort with application and infrastructure layers, including cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote environments.
