Base Salary
$143k - $331k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own significant AI automation, CI/CD, distributed-service, developer-tooling, reliability, and code-intelligence systems from design through production operation.
- Lead architecture, design documentation, implementation, quality, operational health, technical reviews, and roadmap decisions for core platform capabilities.
- Build evaluation and validation systems for AI-assisted changes, builds, tests, deployments, and code-intelligence experiences using measurable outcomes.
- Design scalable systems supporting large repositories, high-volume builds, parallel validation, dependable deployments, branch-aware workflows, external integrations, rate limits, and cost controls.
- Operate reliable multitenant production services by defining service-level objectives, alerts, runbooks, incident practices, authentication, secrets management, and network policy.
- Expose automation, validation, delivery, and code-intelligence capabilities through Model Context Protocol and APIs and integrate them with existing engineering workflows.
- Provide code and design reviews, mentor engineers, identify technical gaps, build alignment with partner teams, and drive solutions through delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred experience includes 5+ years building, testing, launching, and operating backend services or data-intensive production systems.
- Experience owning significant system design and architecture, writing design documents, and leading technical reviews.
- Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, CI/CD platforms, workflow orchestration, developer automation, large-scale data pipelines, Kubernetes, search, retrieval, or code intelligence.
- Preferred experience includes 5+ years delivering production software for AI-enabled automation, agentic workflows, automated software engineering tasks, evaluation frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding pipelines, or MCP.
- Experience operating vector, graph, or relational databases at scale, including Qdrant, FAISS, Neo4j, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD, build and test infrastructure, release automation, deployment orchestration, policy gates, developer self-service platforms, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes deployment tooling.
- Experience with gRPC service design, FastAPI or similar frameworks, and TypeScript and React front ends.
- Experience building developer tools, engineering automation, CI/CD platforms, build or test systems, static analysis, code search, or code-intelligence products.
- Experience leading a technical workstream, mentoring engineers, or serving as the recognized owner of a system used by other teams.
- A master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
