Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, review, and test scalable software components for the Switch platform.
- Develop Node.js backend services integrating with the Switch C++ core and workflow engine.
- Build responsive user interfaces with React.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Design modular, extensible, plugin-based components and contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
- Develop workflow automation, file processing, metadata handling, and third-party or cloud integrations.
- Troubleshoot functional and performance issues across backend, frontend, and C++ components and drive root-cause resolutions.
- Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability through profiling and refactoring.
- Collaborate with Product Management, QA, Customer Support, project managers, and engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and software quality initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, document development processes, and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience in enterprise software or backend systems.
- Mandatory expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Working knowledge of C++ sufficient to understand, debug, and integrate with native C++ applications is highly desirable.
- Experience with large-scale, modular, or plugin-based software systems.
- Understanding of database design with SQL and/or NoSQL and experience with MongoDB.
- Hands-on React.js experience and familiarity with modern component-based UI development.
- Experience or familiarity with Angular or Vue.js is a plus.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, performance optimization, profiling, memory leak detection, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Proficiency with Git or Perforce and CI/CD using Jenkins.
- Experience with Mac and Windows environments and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, JSON, asynchronous communication, and workflow-driven systems or automation pipelines.
- Familiarity with JIRA, GitHub, Docker, software design patterns, and development best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban and awareness of modern AI productivity tools.
