Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Architect OS-level watchdogs, process monitors, and self-healing mechanisms for automatic device recovery.
- Manage and improve OTA updates using A/B partition swapping and automated rollback.
- Develop Python services integrating payment terminals, scanners, and sensors through vendor SDKs and serial interfaces.
- Maintain custom Linux images and configure systemd units, udev rules, and security policies.
- Build monitoring agents that stream logs, metrics, and telemetry to centralized systems such as Datadog or Splunk.
- Collaborate with software, SRE, and field operations teams to improve kiosk reliability and maintainability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering embedded Linux systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python for system automation, service orchestration, and hardware communication.
- Familiarity with A/B update mechanisms such as RAUC, Mender, SWUpdate, or custom partition-switching logic.
- Experience with serial communications including UART, RS-232, and USB-serial, plus SDK-based hardware integration.
- Deep knowledge of service dependencies, timers, and watchdog configuration.
- Familiarity with network observability and remote device management at fleet scale.
- Ability to design for resilience, testability, safe rollback, and operational excellence.
- Collaborative, pragmatic, curious approach with comfort debugging field kiosks and improving edge-device CI/CD.
