$193k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement large-scale recommendation systems for experiences, avatars, and creator content across Roblox surfaces.
- Develop deep learning models for ranking, retrieval, and personalization using multimodal models, LLMs, and generative AI.
- Collaborate with applied researchers, engineers, and product teams to advance experimentation and innovation.
- Translate research into production systems serving hundreds of millions of daily active users.
- Deliver machine learning solutions that improve engagement, retention, and ecosystem growth.
Requirements
- Possessing or pursuing a PhD in computer science, engineering, or a related field with a thesis aligned to Roblox’s research areas.
- Expertise in recommender systems, search systems, information retrieval, or generative models such as LLMs, VLMs, or VLAs.
- Ability to design and architect efficient personalization and user-interest modeling systems using advanced attention mechanisms.
- Strong research record with multiple publications and presentations in top-tier peer-reviewed venues such as SIGIR, KDD, RecSys, ICLR, ICML, or NeurIPS.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C++, Go, or Java, with experience building and optimizing large-scale systems.
