Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and architectural direction across multiple areas of software engineering.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices, well-engineered solutions, and operational excellence across teams.
- Lead major initiatives involving software architecture, engineering processes, and system administration.
- Partner across teams to solve critical technical challenges, risks, and dependencies.
- Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, technical leadership, and collaborative problem solving.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and approaches that improve university platforms, engineering efficiency, and business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10 years of software development experience, including pioneering new engineering approaches and technologies.
- Experience with web-based applications and web services, including Java, REST, SQL, and Git, and experience integrating third-party products.
- Expert understanding of software development practices, including coding, testing, reuse, algorithms, complexity, security, and system design.
- Ability to design and implement solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
- Experience with software development life cycle methodologies and different delivery models.
- Experience designing and operating software in public cloud environments with attention to scale, reliability, cost optimization, and performance metrics.
- Strong communication, stakeholder influence, technical risk management, and dependency management skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD, experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Angular 2 or later, AWS, Salesforce development, cloud telephony, CTI, SIP/VoIP, QoS, IVRs, call recording, enterprise contact-center solutions, distance learning environments, and relevant technical certifications.
