Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and support Python applications, services, scripts, automation solutions, and backend or data-processing systems.
- Write clean, modular, reusable, testable, and maintainable Python code using sound software engineering practices.
- Implement file handling, data processing, JSON parsing, command-line utilities, data structures, algorithms, and application logic.
- Develop multithreaded, asynchronous, or multiprocessing solutions when required.
- Create unit and integration tests, maintain test coverage, and participate in quality gates.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform debugging and root-cause analysis, and support production deployments and incidents.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, release management, deployment, monitoring, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Product Management, and other engineering teams.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on Python development experience; the role description also specifies 8+ years of hands-on development experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python fundamentals, including file I/O, strings, command-line parsing, JSON, data structures, exceptions, iterators, generators, decorators, context managers, modules, packages, concurrency, OOP, logging, debugging, and clean-code principles.
- Experience designing and delivering production-quality software across the software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, mocking, code coverage, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident handling, and production support.
- Preferred experience with backend services, automation tools, APIs, data-processing applications, Linux/Unix, shell scripting, software design patterns, code reviews, Git, observability, logging ecosystems, cloud platforms, security, performance, and scalability.
