Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, architect, and implement software applications and complex software systems for space technologies.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and software issue resolution.
- Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and deliver effective software solutions.
- Use Git and related collaborative tools to manage code changes and development workflows.
- Document software configurations, processes, procedures, and complex technical systems.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to engineering team members.
- Make high-level design decisions affecting program cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Support cloud-native application deployment, automated testing, system optimization, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of the degree, or a master’s degree with 6 years of experience.
- Typically 8+ years of related experience.
- Deep expertise in multiple programming languages and software development principles, with the ability to design and implement complex systems.
- Strong leadership skills and experience guiding engineering teams in Agile or Scrum/Kanban environments.
- Advanced Python and React expertise, including experience with Python FastAPI, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Docker, AWS, and Ansible.
- Experience with code coverage, unit testing, automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, software design patterns, and cloud-native architecture.
- Advanced scripting proficiency with Bash and PowerShell.
- Expertise with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, including optimization and scaling strategies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and distributed-systems troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for the active clearance requirement.
