Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver quarterly objectives.
- Plan, design, implement, test, and deploy software epics independently and through pair programming.
- Build customer-facing and non-customer-facing code and maintain related documentation.
- Triage, verify, debug, and fix software issues and bugs.
- Support software testing and quality assurance processes.
- Create SQL for Tech Updates and prepare it for review.
- Review business needs, requirements, and technical specifications.
- Respond to alerts and error messages and provide timely production support.
- Mentor and guide less senior staff.
- Perform code reviews, approve pull requests, and conduct point releases.
- Maintain build and stage stability and improve application stability.
- Research and prototype new technologies and incorporate relevant improvements.
- Influence and evolve system-wide architecture.
- Review peer contributions and participate in constructive retrospectives.
- Communicate effectively, escalate issues appropriately, and help unblock team members.
Requirements
- Completed B.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- At least 8 years of experience with Java 8+, SQL, Unix shell commands, version control, JDBC, Hibernate or JPA, Spring MVC, HTTP protocols, build tools, continuous integration tools, JVM and garbage collection, NoSQL, data lakes, cloud computing, and load balancing.
- Experience working with Java, Spring, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of relational databases, table design, and SQL.
- Experience with test-driven development and continuous integration/delivery tooling and integrations.
- Experience with large-scale processing, monitoring, alerting, and production support.
- Highly desired exposure to Google Cloud technology.
- Exposure to front-end technologies and experience mentoring or training teams.
- Proven ability to own larger pieces of work and influence architecture and interdisciplinary dependencies.
- Open-source contributions are beneficial.
- Digital marketing knowledge is a plus.
- Affiliate and Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification by PXA is a nice-to-have.
