Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust software solutions for large German and South African clients.
- Build backend services, REST APIs, integration layers, and enterprise Java applications.
- Apply object-oriented design principles and established design patterns.
- Write readable, efficient, testable code and deliver thoroughly tested and debugged software.
- Create project development environments, including rule files, context documentation, MCP server configurations, and scaffolding for AI collaboration.
- Review and validate AI-generated code for quality, failure modes, and hallucinations.
- Contribute to code reviews, performance tuning, CI/CD practices, and improvements to engineering standards.
Requirements
- Completed university degree in computer science or a comparable discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, Spring, Kotlin, Maven, Gradle, and JUnit.
- Experience applying AI-agent-based development methods and tools.
- Interest in agile methods such as Scrum or Design Thinking.
- Proactive, pragmatic, team-oriented approach with strong collaboration and communication skills.
