Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, development, maintenance, and support for highly complex SAP Commerce Cloud and Hybris eCommerce platforms.
- Design and implement custom extensions, services, facades, controllers, interceptors, business processes, integrations, OCC APIs, and integration services.
- Develop and maintain Core Commerce, Product Catalog Management, WCMS, Promotions and Pricing, Order Management, Backoffice, Solr Search, CronJobs, and the Business Process Engine.
- Design and oversee integrations with SAP S/4HANA, ERP, CRM, PIM, OMS, payment gateways, logistics providers, and third-party services.
- Lead system analysis, solution design, architecture, code reviews, technical documentation, requirements workshops, and technical delivery planning.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable Java code and ensure compliance with engineering standards and SAP Commerce best practices.
- Lead unit, integration, automation, performance, and volume testing and oversee solution quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot complex production, transactional, performance, and integration issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support SAP Commerce Cloud upgrades, migrations, releases, platform modernisation, cloud deployments, monitoring, logging, and production support.
- Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and cloud-based delivery.
- Mentor Software Engineer I and II team members and contribute to engineering standards, practice improvement workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or Analyst Programmer.
- At least 5 years of hands-on SAP Commerce Cloud or SAP Hybris development experience.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud CCv2 or SAP Hybris, Java, and the Spring Framework.
- Extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale eCommerce solutions and working on highly complex software development lifecycle projects.
- Extensive code review, code quality assurance, solution design, systems analysis, and enterprise integration experience.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps environments and in retail, omnichannel, or eCommerce settings.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Commerce architecture, custom extensions, OCC APIs, REST services, Impex, FlexibleSearch, and data modelling.
- Practical experience with Backoffice, WCMS, CronJobs, Business Process Engine, Solr, SQL, Git, and CI/CD.
- Proven capability in performance optimisation, troubleshooting, security, and scalable solution design.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, microservices, and SOAP/REST web services.
- A diploma or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT qualification is advantageous.
- Agile Foundation Training and advanced security training including OWASP Top 10 are required; leadership, programming/framework, software/solution design, and SAP Commerce certifications are advantageous.
- Experience with Spartacus or SAP Composable Storefront, Angular, SAP Integration Suite or CPI, SAP S/4HANA integrations, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or Azure, GraphQL, headless commerce, or cloud-native development is advantageous.
