Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement performance testing strategies for banking applications.
- Create and execute load, stress, endurance, volume, scalability, and benchmark tests using realistic workload models.
- Analyze application and infrastructure performance to identify bottlenecks, diagnose root causes, and recommend improvements.
- Partner with Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues and optimize applications.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and support automation-first, shift-left performance engineering.
- Manage performance test environments, test data, and testing tools for accurate and repeatable execution.
- Prepare and communicate performance test results, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support performance tuning, incident analysis, resilience testing, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in performance testing, performance engineering, or application architecture.
- Experience establishing performance testing strategies and executing load, stress, endurance, scalability, and benchmark tests.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as StresStimulus, JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or comparable technologies.
- Knowledge of performance engineering standards, methodologies, best practices, and complex performance investigations.
- Advanced expertise in database diagnostics, JVM tuning, thread and heap dump analysis, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Advanced knowledge of Java, containerized applications, APIs, microservices, and scripting languages such as Python, .NET, or Node.js.
- Proficiency with application performance monitoring and observability platforms such as Broadcom DX, Splunk, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of performance analysis and optimization for relational and NoSQL database environments.
- Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and implementing shift-left performance engineering practices.
- Experience with source code management and version control platforms such as GitHub and Bitbucket.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills in Agile and regulated environments.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot or similar developer productivity tools; Red Hat Fuse, MuleSoft, Kafka, or IBM MQ; high-volume transactional applications; batch processing; distributed systems; resilience or chaos engineering; and mission-critical regulated applications.
