Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-powered intelligent systems using search, planning, ranking, retrieval, reasoning, constraint satisfaction, and knowledge representation.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and orchestration layers for production AI applications.
- Build and maintain search, ranking, recommendation, and knowledge management systems.
- Integrate AI capabilities with APIs, databases, document repositories, workflow platforms, and other enterprise applications.
- Apply context management, memory systems, and human-in-the-loop patterns to create reliable and safe production systems.
- Evaluate AI techniques, architectures, and tools based on reliability, scalability, and business impact.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate ambiguous problems into measurable technical solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and development of engineering standards.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python and working knowledge of Java or a similar general-purpose language.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with classical AI concepts and applied domains such as search and ranking, planning and scheduling, recommendation engines, rule engines, expert systems, or knowledge-based systems.
- Experience building AI applications such as semantic search, document intelligence, information extraction, recommendation systems, conversational AI, or enterprise decision support.
- Experience building production-grade APIs, microservices, data pipelines, or event-driven systems.
- Understanding of distributed systems, databases, concurrency, scalable backend architecture, security, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, NoSQL databases, vector databases, graph databases, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Experience or familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka or message queues, REST APIs, automated testing, logging, monitoring, and observability tooling.
- Preferred experience with RAG, vector search, embedding-based retrieval, ontology and knowledge graph integration, agentic AI frameworks, agentic workflows, tool calling, multi-agent systems, AI evaluation, NLP, document intelligence, or conversational AI platforms.
