Base Salary
$94k - $142k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop efficient, reusable Java code for high-volume, low-latency applications.
- Architect RESTful APIs and scalable backend services using Spring and Spring Boot.
- Translate business and user requirements into technical specifications, low-level designs, and solution architecture artifacts.
- Evaluate and champion technologies and frameworks that improve the application stack.
- Build and maintain unit, integration, and performance test automation.
- Lead peer code reviews and raise engineering standards across the team.
- Own production systems, including diagnosing and resolving critical issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and senior engineers to deliver software and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional Java development experience with substantial exposure to cloud environments and distributed systems.
- Expertise in Java, RESTful API design, cloud engineering principles, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL and NoSQL technologies including MongoDB.
- Practical experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, MQ, and Kafka.
- Knowledge of clean code principles, design patterns, test-driven development, Agile methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tooling.
- Ability to lead technical delivery autonomously, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressure.
- Preferred experience in financial services and payments processing, generative AI and large language models, mainframe integration, event-driven or API-based architectures, Kafka, and subject-matter expertise in an applications-development area.
