Responsibilities
- Maintain understanding of AHS architecture, dependencies, and safety constraints and translate them into risk-based test plans and automated coverage.
- Define and own quality strategy across functional, performance, security, failover, compatibility, and exploratory testing.
- Design, implement, and enhance test automation frameworks and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Use service virtualization, contract testing, containerized environments, infrastructure-as-code provisioning, and test data versioning to support scalable testing.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to document requirements, acceptance criteria, and automated validation.
- Publish quality dashboards, analyze defect escape and MTTR metrics, and convert postmortem findings into preventative checks.
- Support deployment configuration, field installation, on-site validation, and compatibility matrix management.
- Mentor engineers, promote test-development coding standards, pilot productivity tools, and coordinate enterprise quality initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 6 years of combined software or systems testing experience, including at least 4 years building and scaling test automation.
- Ability to take projects from requirements scoping through production operations and define comprehensive strategies for complex, distributed, or real-time systems.
- Proficiency in at least one automation programming language: Java, Python, or C#.
- Strong REST/gRPC API and UI automation experience.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code for on-demand test environments.
- Ability to mentor, influence, and up-level QA and development teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to travel internationally for up to 10% of the time.
- Preferred experience includes at least 5 years across the full software development lifecycle, event-driven microservices, REST APIs, network protocols, network programming, and distributed application debugging.
