Senior GNC Engineer
Anduril IndustriesResponsibilities
- Lead architecture selection, design, and implementation of guidance, navigation, and control subsystems and control schemes for autonomous robotic platforms.
- Integrate technologies from third-party vendors, research and development partners, and internal product teams.
- Develop real-time embedded software and contribute to other embedded subsystems.
- Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing and simulation fixtures.
- Develop modeling and simulation capabilities, capture test data, and validate updated models.
- Analyze control-system, subsystem, and instrumentation data to verify vehicle performance and evaluate GNC algorithms and controllers.
- Perform root cause analyses for vehicle anomalies and incidents related to GNC responsibilities.
- Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor software and hardware engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of experience developing high-assurance, safety-critical GNC software, including cascading controls, adaptive controls, and transfer functions.
- Systems programming skills in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
- Extensive experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Preferred experience includes C or C++, communications buses and protocols, troubleshooting remotely deployed software, electrical and mechanical systems, DO-178 or similar certifications, PX4, ArduPilot, ROS, and RTOS.
