Lead Software Engineer - Data and Payments Data Platform

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, scalable software and data platform solutions.
- Build batch and real-time data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and Flink.
- Develop data cataloging, data quality, semantic and metrics-layer components with governance, lineage, and compliance controls.
- Implement fact, dimensional, wide-table, star-schema, and snowflake data modeling strategies for analytics and downstream use.
- Lead adoption and validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and automation practices.
- Partner with analytics teams, product managers, business stakeholders, vendors, startups, and internal teams to deliver production-grade solutions.
- Write, review, debug, and maintain high-quality production code while improving operational stability and automating recurring remediation.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote effective technology patterns.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training or certification and 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform development.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, distributed data processing, and operational stability.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Flink, Databricks, Apache Airflow, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud data services such as AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, and Lake Formation, or equivalent services.
- Experience leading responsible use of AI-assisted software development tools, including validation for correctness, performance, security, and data sensitivity.
- Preferred experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, embedding-based retrieval, data mesh, data products, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, data observability, metadata management, Tableau, or dbt Metrics.
