Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable backend and ML systems supporting sponsored experiences, ranking, retrieval, and personalization.
- Develop and own MLOps pipelines for model integration, delivery, training, validation, and monitoring.
- Engineer large-scale data pipelines for model training and feature engineering.
- Implement and optimize traditional ML and Generative AI models for low-latency, high-throughput serving.
- Translate research prototypes and novel algorithms into robust, production-ready code with Applied Researchers.
- Apply software engineering practices including code reviews, testing, documentation, and pair programming.
- Monitor ML service performance, resolve production issues, and improve reliability and efficiency.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and architecture design.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related area with 5+ years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree with 6+ years, in ML, AI, or Data Engineering.
- Expertise in production software engineering using an object-oriented language such as Scala, Java, or Python.
- Extensive experience with distributed big-data processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
- Production experience with ML frameworks including TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience with model-serving frameworks such as TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, or NVIDIA Triton.
- Preferred experience with LangChain and Hugging Face Transformers for LLM operations.
- Ability to build and manage ML model delivery pipelines and use Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud services, big-data pipelines, and databases, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Ability to design scalable distributed systems and expose functionality through APIs.
- Strong understanding of operating ML systems in 24/7 production environments, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
