Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable systems for high-volume data streams, cost attribution, and resource management.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in cloud architecture to reduce resource waste and improve attribution accuracy.
- Own the full lifecycle of key services, including code quality, monitoring, and operational overhead.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and build cloud-economics tooling for engineers and budget owners.
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to code reviews, and promote engineering best practices and early efficiency checks.
- Build automation and AI/agentic tooling to detect waste, attribute costs, and remediate issues with minimal human intervention.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience producing high-quality production code and detailed technical design documents for distributed systems.
- Experience optimizing cloud resource utilization or developing large-scale distributed tools.
- Strong understanding of distributed-systems best practices, including monitoring, documentation, testing, and operational quality.
- Ability to break down complex, multi-month projects into actionable milestones and tasks.
- Ability to make well-reasoned trade-offs among system performance, development velocity, and technical debt.
