Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and drive the migration of the company’s data platform using Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and GCP BigQuery.
- Develop foundational products and tailored tools for data teams, including monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost control, testing, CI/CD, and cataloging.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s largest and most business-critical ELT pipelines.
- Own delivery of critical reports used for executive decision-making and by data teams across business functions.
- Communicate complex processes clearly and coordinate different stakeholders effectively.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in data or software engineering, particularly with data-intensive, business-critical pipelines.
- Experience building and operating modern data platforms; comparable tools and setups are acceptable.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals applied to data engineering, including testing, best practices, and design patterns.
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
- Infrastructure knowledge with Docker, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Pragmatic decision-making about platform quality versus delivery speed.
- Strong communication skills and fluent business-level English.
