Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and drive the transition to the company’s new data platform.
- Develop platform tooling, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controls, testing, and cataloging capabilities.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s largest and most fundamental ELT pipelines.
- Own delivery of critical reports used for executive board decisions and by data teams across the company.
- Apply software engineering best practices and make pragmatic decisions about when to optimize versus ship.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in data engineering or software engineering, particularly with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
- Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms, preferably with Dagster, dbt, BigQuery, and AWS ECS or equivalent tools.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals applied to data engineering, including testing, design patterns, and CI/CD practices.
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
- Knowledge of infrastructure setups using Docker, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to communicate concisely with diverse stakeholders.
