Responsibilities
- Develop deployment frameworks and manage deployment automation strategies.
- Write code, conduct code and design reviews, and facilitate technical discussions to guide technical direction.
- Drive technical strategy and execution for automation initiatives, including migrating on-premise workloads to AWS.
- Build automation frameworks using open-source and commercial tools.
- Guide infrastructure movement techniques and bulk application transfers into the cloud.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and internal stakeholders.
- Develop detailed work plans for application or platform project activities.
- Create metrics for effectiveness, coverage, and regression cost reduction.
- Advocate automation infrastructure adoption with development teams.
- Assess functional and technical design gaps, support continuous improvement, analyze problems, and recommend resolutions.
- Manage multiple priorities and lead or influence teams by example.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of development experience writing scripts using Java, Shell, or Ruby.
- Experience writing automation scripts to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Harness, and TeamCity.
- Experience with distributed systems and strong Linux shell scripting.
- Strong experience running and optimizing Docker containers and orchestrating and scaling them with Kubernetes.
- Experience using AWS, OCI, or Azure to build reliable and scalable deployment pipelines.
- Working knowledge of configuration management tools and patterns, including Ansible, Salt, and Puppet.
- Experience with versioning, packaging, and installing software in hands-off environments.
- Experience with deployment tools such as Harness, CloudBees CD, or UrbanCode.
- Experience deploying code quickly and scalably across multiple environments.
- Knowledge of Maven2 and binary stores such as JFrog Artifactory and Nexus.
- Perl and PowerShell experience are a plus.
- Knowledge of application servers, deployment tools, databases, and network infrastructure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, and prioritization skills.
