Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, performance, efficiency, monitoring, change management, emergency response, and capacity planning of high-availability rental systems.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and solution health, escalate problems, and resolve performance degradation, capacity concerns, and outage events.
  • Support production infrastructure and operational activities across cloud, web services, middleware, and legacy solutions.
  • Develop automation, standards, processes, procedures, documentation, and strategic capacity plans.
  • Collaborate with architects and project teams to improve solution capacity, performance, quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and technical lead on complex assignments while representing the department across teams.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to less senior team members and maintain relationships across departments.

Requirements

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future work authorization sponsorship by the company.
  • Must reside in the United States excluding Alaska and Hawaii and work during U.S. Central Time core business hours.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a software development engineering environment supporting technologies such as Java, Web Services, C, C++, and PL/SQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience using and configuring Tuxedo, WebLogic, and Tomcat middleware.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an AIX/Linux system administrator with associated tools.
  • At least 2 years of experience with scripting for automation, system administration, or application support using Shell/Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell, or similar.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent tools.
  • Must incorporate security into decisions and daily job responsibilities.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge includes network engineering, infrastructure testing, troubleshooting, capacity planning, hardware concepts, networking devices, topologies, resiliency patterns, and SQL.
