Base Salary

$190k - $265k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical vision and architecture of AtomEngine.
  • Lead the design and evolution of core engine systems and developer tooling.
  • Own architectural decisions spanning engine runtime and platform scalability.
  • Identify and drive investments to improve performance and developer productivity.
  • Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Partner with various engineering teams to ensure effective support for organizational priorities.
  • Establish and champion engineering standards and best practices.
  • Serve as a technical mentor through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Proactively identify technical risks and develop strategies to address them.
  • Balance short-term delivery objectives with long-term platform strategy.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in game engines or simulation platforms.
  • Experience owning the architecture and technical direction of large-scale systems.
  • Deep understanding of game engine architecture and performance optimization.
  • Proven track record leading complex technical initiatives across teams.
  • Strong experience in optimizing performance and developer workflows in large codebases.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards and influencing technical decisions.
  • Strong systems-thinking skills for evaluating long-term platform tradeoffs.
  • Familiarity with modern game engines like Godot, Unity, or Unreal Engine.
  • Experience shipping and supporting complex live-service products.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
