Base Salary
$190k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision and architecture of AtomEngine.
- Lead the design and evolution of core engine systems and developer tooling.
- Own architectural decisions spanning engine runtime and platform scalability.
- Identify and drive investments to improve performance and developer productivity.
- Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
- Partner with various engineering teams to ensure effective support for organizational priorities.
- Establish and champion engineering standards and best practices.
- Serve as a technical mentor through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Proactively identify technical risks and develop strategies to address them.
- Balance short-term delivery objectives with long-term platform strategy.
Requirements
- 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in game engines or simulation platforms.
- Experience owning the architecture and technical direction of large-scale systems.
- Deep understanding of game engine architecture and performance optimization.
- Proven track record leading complex technical initiatives across teams.
- Strong experience in optimizing performance and developer workflows in large codebases.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and influencing technical decisions.
- Strong systems-thinking skills for evaluating long-term platform tradeoffs.
- Familiarity with modern game engines like Godot, Unity, or Unreal Engine.
- Experience shipping and supporting complex live-service products.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
