Base Salary

$121k - $164k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Act as the design authority for Luma-based customer solutions and end-to-end lab orchestration architectures.
  • Define application, data, integration, identity, environment, and operational architectures while documenting trade-offs involving cost, complexity, scalability, risk, and sustainability.
  • Design integrations across scientific informatics, data infrastructure, instruments, workcells, robotic platforms, enterprise systems, and lab automation schedulers.
  • Define data ingestion, transformation, migration, lineage, auditability, and compliance strategies for high-frequency heterogeneous laboratory data.
  • Architect workflows that progress from experiment planning through scheduling, execution, and data capture with minimal manual intervention.
  • Own non-functional requirements covering performance, scalability, security, resilience, observability, accessibility, internationalisation, and maintainability.
  • Design security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting, and post-go-live operational approaches for connected laboratory environments.
  • Advise customers, Sales, PreSales, Product, Engineering, Cloud Operations, Siemens, and delivery partners on solution scope, risks, and architecture.
  • Review designs and implementations, create reusable reference architectures and integration templates, and provide technical guidance to architects and delivery teams.
  • Enable partners and act as an escalation point for complex multi-vendor lab automation and scientific software architecture issues.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience scoping automated scientific workflow-based solutions and designing enterprise-grade SaaS or hybrid architectures.
  • Advanced understanding of integration patterns, APIs, data pipelines, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Databricks and Apache NiFi.
  • Familiarity with SiLA2, LADS, and OPC-UA lab automation connectivity standards and protocols.
  • Experience integrating ELN, LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, MES, instrument data, and lab automation scheduling systems across IT and OT environments.
  • Understanding of scientific R&D workflows, laboratory automation, instrument scheduling, sample tracking, and workcell automation.
  • Experience in customer-facing consulting or professional services roles.
  • Experience working with system integrators or technology partners in enterprise delivery models.
  • Architecture certifications such as TOGAF or cloud architecture certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in regulated environments and knowledge of GxP, FDA, ISO, SOC 2, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11, or ALCOA+ are a plus.
  • Exposure to Siemens products or lab automation scheduling platforms and vendor ecosystems is a plus.
