Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, and support high-performance Java-based software solutions.
- Define requirements and implement complex applications, interfaces, integrations, and enterprise-level messaging or middleware connections.
- Ensure application code quality and alignment with development standards through software development and code reviews.
- Perform performance engineering for enterprise software architecture and provide technical guidance, advice, and training to application developers.
- Coach and develop junior employees and mentor the next generation of software developers.
- Research and evaluate tools supporting domain-specific needs and communicate domain-level direction through internal and external presentations.
- Configure, integrate, and validate AI-assisted development workflows across requirements analysis, coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, quality gates, and deployment.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Java JDK 17 or greater.
- Knowledge of Tomcat, Spring, Spring Boot, Shell Scripting, and JSON.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration solutions.
- Expertise with JUnit or another automated unit testing framework.
- Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, and Maven.
- Experience with source control management and multi-developer codebases.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, reusable AI workflows, agentic workflows, LLM evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.
- Ability to validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, quality, maintainability, compliance, and production readiness.
- Experience integrating AI workflows with Git-based development, automated quality gates, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and cloud-native deployment.
- Advanced understanding of modern software engineering concepts and coding best practices, along with strong communication, collaboration, initiative, and mentoring skills.
- Experience with a UI framework such as Angular is a plus.
