Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, massively scaled CloudWatch systems used by millions of users.
- Develop telemetry collection agents in Rust and Go for metrics, logs, and traces.
- Engage with upstream open-source communities and projects such as OpenTelemetry.
- Expand services across AWS Regions and investigate root causes of operational issues.
- Apply fixes that prevent recurring production issues.
- Use GenAI and AI-powered development tools to improve productivity.
- Mentor junior engineers and help grow the team’s technical capabilities.
Requirements
- Professional non-internship software development experience.
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Hands-on programming skills in at least one of Rust, Go, Java, C++, or Python.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations preferred.
- Open-source enthusiasm and contributions, such as a GitHub portfolio or contributions to OpenTelemetry, preferred.
