Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and define architecture for complex, high-impact initiatives spanning multiple systems, services, and teams.
  • Design, prototype, implement, review, debug, and operate scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable production systems.
  • Own technically complex initiatives end to end, including production readiness and ongoing operation.
  • Improve developer-facing workflows for application creation, API access, documentation, usage visibility, and platform self-service.
  • Lead complex production issue resolution and address underlying root causes.
  • Advance engineering standards through architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, testing, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
  • Use production signals, customer feedback, engineering data, and AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality and productivity.
  • Mentor engineers, share technical context, and influence technical decisions across teams without direct authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership of technically complex initiatives.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, building, and operating production systems.
  • Architecture and system-design experience with complex web applications, API platforms, distributed systems, or comparable production environments.
  • Hands-on programming experience with modern backend and/or frontend technologies, cloud services, APIs, data stores, security, and production observability.
  • Experience using and evaluating AI-assisted development tools in software engineering workflows.
  • Experience delivering initiatives across multiple systems or teams and influencing technical decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and improve team effectiveness.
  • Preferred experience with cloud-based web applications, developer platforms, APIs at scale, API architecture, security, reliability, scalability, performance, integrations, AI-assisted engineering practices, automation, and globally distributed cross-functional teams.

Benefits

  • Canada-based roles list a starting base salary range of $131,000 to $191,400, with offers varying by experience and geographic location.
  • The compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and comprehensive benefits.
  • The role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification.
