Base Salary
$230k - $390k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, low-latency data foundations, including real-time eventing, streaming and batch ETL, and an Iceberg-based data lakehouse.
- Own interactive OLAP querying, orchestration, experimentation, data governance, lineage, and data quality systems.
- Develop long-term agent memory, reusable Customer Data Platform primitives, and personalization optimization loops.
- Build analytics dashboards, data visualization tools, alerting systems, and exploration interfaces for complex data.
- Design and ship full-stack production systems with strong performance, API design, information architecture, and usability.
- Lead complex technical projects or mentor other engineers when appropriate.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping production systems or products.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale data systems processing terabytes or petabytes using technologies such as Spark, Flink, Trino/Presto, Iceberg, or Hudi.
- Strong backend and distributed-systems fundamentals in Go, Scala, or Python, including knowledge of storage engines, query plans, and data serialization formats.
- Experience with data governance, lineage, testing, data modeling, analytical query optimization, OLAP systems, and cloud data warehouses.
- Experience shipping data products such as analytics dashboards, data visualization tools, alerting systems, or exploration systems.
- Full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript/React and a service layer such as Go, along with strong API design and product judgment.
- Practical experience with ML-powered product features such as personalization, recommendations, classification, recommender systems, or optimization loops.
- Preferred experience with Kafka or Kinesis, real-time data processing, ECharts or D3.js, multi-armed bandits, ranking, and technical leadership or mentoring.
