Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews and select among available technologies with peers and stakeholders.
- Review other developers’ code and provide feedback on style, correctness, testability, and efficiency.
- Contribute to and update documentation or educational content based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage, debug, track, and resolve product or system issues by analyzing effects on hardware, networks, services, and quality.
- Own key Google Pay product areas and build features that scale to a massive user base.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- At least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- At least 2 years of full-stack development experience across backend and mobile.
- Preferred: 7 years of software development experience.
- Preferred: experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity.
- Preferred: experience building systems that scale to millions of global users.
- Preferred: experience working on app security.
