Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to define test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria, and requirements traceability.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests using TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber, and Gherkin.
  • Build end-to-end, functional, integration, and regression coverage for React and TypeScript applications.
  • Create reusable automation frameworks, fixtures, utilities, test data, reporting components, and BDD step definitions.
  • Test web and Electron workflows, including forms, dialogs, tables, accessibility, error handling, window behavior, and file access.
  • Validate Cesium-based geospatial capabilities such as maps, terrain, imagery, layers, entities, visualization, and coordinate workflows.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, distinguish defects from automation or environmental issues, and verify resolutions.
  • Conduct exploratory and risk-based testing and support regression testing, release qualification, and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate automated tests into test pipelines and improve test stability, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer reviews, and reviews of test artifacts and automation code.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior QA engineers and contribute to QA standards, processes, and testing methodologies.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance up to Top Secret/SCI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Professional experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and an automated testing framework such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or a comparable tool.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated UI, end-to-end, functional, and regression tests.
  • Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin, or other behavior-driven development practices.
  • Experience testing React or comparable component-based user interfaces.
  • Experience creating test cases, analyzing results, reporting defects, and maintaining requirements traceability.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, debugging, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile development environment and learn complex mission-focused software systems.
  • Preferred experience with TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber/Gherkin, React, Material UI, Electron, Vite, Cesium, geographic information systems, mapping applications, or modeling and simulation systems.
  • Preferred experience integrating tests with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative source-control workflows, plus familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or comparable test and defect-tracking tools.
  • Preferred experience with Python and/or C++, Windows and/or Linux, networking and system troubleshooting, mentoring, or QA process improvements.
