Base Salary
$197k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Shape and improve the Windows and macOS desktop experience for millions of Roblox players.
- Own major desktop initiatives end-to-end from ambiguous idea through shipping, measurement, and iteration.
- Rebuild and improve application launch, rendering, and operating-system integration components.
- Set technical standards through hands-on development, code review, mentorship, and quality improvements.
- Make platform investments that benefit engineering teams beyond the Desktop team.
- Translate ambiguous product ideas into scoped engineering plans with product, design, and data science partners.
- Collaborate with Microsoft and Apple counterparts on platform feature ubiquity and excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping client software.
- Deep C++ expertise and the ability to work effectively in a large, established codebase.
- Experience releasing significant Windows or macOS applications and strong knowledge of their platforms and APIs.
- Strong debugging and profiling skills, including tracing, crash root-cause analysis, and performance diagnosis across the client stack and diverse consumer hardware.
- Fluency with concurrency, threading models, and memory management.
- Data-driven approach using metrics, logging, and experiments to evaluate features.
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems, drive projects to completion, communicate clearly, build cross-functional trust, and improve other engineers.
- Experience with Lua or React is a plus.
