Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of Azure and C#/.NET solutions from requirements, architecture, and implementation through testing, deployment, production validation, support transition, and continuous improvement.
- Design and build cloud-native, API-led, event-driven applications, APIs, microservices, integrations, and data solutions using Azure services, C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
- Develop reusable architecture patterns, standards, templates, runbooks, integration components, and engineering practices for error handling, retries, idempotency, and recovery.
- Optimize application and Cosmos DB performance, including partitioning, throughput, indexing, latency, capacity, and cost tradeoffs.
- Build and improve Azure DevOps pipelines, environment promotion processes, rollback strategies, automated testing gates, and Infrastructure as Code deployments.
- Establish observability, production-readiness criteria, structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, alerting, runbooks, disaster recovery, and incident response practices.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and feedback while acting as the team's go-to technical resource.
- Lead responsible adoption of AI-assisted practices across planning, coding, testing, documentation, review, and troubleshooting with human validation and security controls.
- Collaborate with product, QA, security, infrastructure, data, support, and onshore/offshore engineering teams and participate in production on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and Azure backend and integration services.
- Proven end-to-end ownership of production Azure solutions from requirements and architecture through deployment, observability, and support.
- Strong expertise with Azure Event Hubs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Cosmos DB, including production troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud-native applications, microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed-system failure handling, automated testing, Azure DevOps CI/CD, Git, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and observability tooling.
- Ability to mentor developers, conduct design and code reviews, communicate technical tradeoffs, lead through ambiguity, and provide clear recommendations.
- Practical experience using AI development tools with output validation and data-protection safeguards.
- Preferred Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification and strongly preferred Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
- Preferred experience with disaster recovery, high-availability architecture, distributed tracing, production on-call support, Cosmos DB partitioning and RU optimization, Azure performance engineering, FinOps, and standardized AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Experience in retail, distribution, supply chain, or heavy-duty aftermarket domains is preferred.
