Responsibilities
- Build technical strategy and lead architecture, design, prototyping, implementation, testing, and production delivery for complex solutions.
- Lead infrastructure-as-code projects, design APIs, and build tools that enable reliable and repeatable cloud deployments.
- Create abstractions over AWS, Kubernetes, open-source technologies, and internal infrastructure to provide intuitive and predictable developer experiences.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems across multiple stack layers and teams.
- Design cloud infrastructure for robustness, security, observability, scalability, and long-term system health.
- Plan and execute technical backlogs, guide functional teams, and represent engineering in cross-functional discussions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, support, operations, and engineering teams to build features and resolve production issues.
- Develop and scale CI/CD and workflow pipelines and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Support risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or relevant qualifying experience.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience, including seven or more years developing distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, or microservices.
- Two or more years developing front-end solutions and familiarity with modern frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Six or more years working with Java and Spring, with proficiency in Maven or Gradle.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud deployment pipelines.
- Experience with scalable cloud or datacenter systems, AWS services, networking, DNS, HTTP, TLS, load balancing, Linux, monitoring, alerting, and notifications.
- Experience designing and developing scalable systems, delivering business-critical systems, and building CI/CD and workflow pipelines.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks such as Pub/Sub, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
- Working experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure and knowledge of secure coding, testing, software development lifecycle practices, and DevOps practices.
- Preferred qualifications include an MS or PhD, JavaScript and scripting frameworks, AppDynamics, C#, Ruby, Python, PHP, payments knowledge, FinTech experience, Kubernetes experience, and AWS or Azure certification.
- Must complete a background and drug screen and be able to perform the physical and communication requirements of the role.

- Contract position with a hybrid work model for positions located in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York.
