Responsibilities
- Lead the design, execution, optimization, and technical delivery of end-to-end batch and event-driven data pipelines.
- Build and operate data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, and reusable data-product patterns using Python, SQL, dbt, Snowflake, and Airflow.
- Design Node.js services, middleware, APIs, and integration components connecting data platforms with applications, dashboards, and enterprise platforms.
- Implement agentic capabilities, MCP server integrations, structured outputs, context retrieval, and human-agent handoffs across applications and data pipelines.
- Establish testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, observability, performance tuning, and SLOs/SLAs for data and API systems.
- Conduct code and design reviews, mentor Senior and Associate Engineers, and promote engineering standards and documentation.
Requirements
- Typically 10 to 14+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Platform Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated technical depth.
- Deep expertise in Python and advanced SQL, with experience operating production data platforms.
- Extensive experience with dbt, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Snowflake, distributed systems, data modeling, and batch or streaming patterns.
- Practical experience with Node.js and TypeScript or JavaScript for backend services, microservices, or integration layers.
- Hands-on knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, API gateways, OAuth2, and SSO.
- Experience building or integrating AI-enabled workflows with LangGraph or LangChain, MCP servers, structured outputs, vector stores, and retrieval mechanisms.
- Experience operating on cloud platforms, preferably AWS, with familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or ECS, Lambda, CI/CD, and Terraform.
- Proven ability to lead complex data projects, bridge data-platform and web-application teams, communicate with product managers, and translate technical choices into business outcomes.
