Responsibilities
- Implement and test components of the edge packaging and runtime system using a containerless, OCI-based deployment approach.
- Contribute to on-device orchestration, OTA updates, and lifecycle management for fielded devices.
- Measure and improve inference performance and resource usage on constrained CPU, GPU, and NPU hardware.
- Develop cross-compilation and reproducible, secure multi-architecture build pipelines.
- Integrate device fleets with cloud control planes and backend services using REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, and MQTT.
- Reproduce, diagnose, and fix defects on real hardware and convert findings into tests.
- Use agentic AI coding tools for implementation, refactoring, code review, and debugging.
- Contribute to AI-assisted engineering practices, guardrails, documentation, and human-owned workflows.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Working proficiency in Rust or Python and willingness to learn the other; C/C++ exposure is a plus.
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools, AI coding assistants, or agents in software development workflows.
- Comfort with Linux and Git-based workflows.
- Experience with embedded Linux and systematic debugging.
- Clear written communication and ability to collaborate with teams distributed across North America, Europe, and India.
- Curiosity about cloud, edge, web/backend, and networking systems.
- Preferred experience includes ML frameworks or inference runtimes, NPU/GPU hardware, GenAI or LLM tooling, RAG pipelines, multi-architecture builds, a major cloud provider, or GitLab CI.
