Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software, libraries, and tooling that support global-ready SAS products.
- Implement and maintain internationalization capabilities involving Unicode, locale-sensitive formatting and sorting, and string externalization/resource management.
- Resolve customer-impacting defects in mature and legacy codebases and coordinate patch updates for high-priority fixes.
- Partner with product development, product management, project management, support engineering, and testing stakeholders.
- Guide testing strategies, investigate defects, and improve engineering practices for globally usable product deliverables.
- Use AI-assisted tools for code review, refactoring suggestions, defect triage, test generation, and documentation while validating correctness and traceability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience with hands-on internationalization experience and familiarity with ICU and CLDR.
- Proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, or C, with the ability to contribute to production codebases.
- Working proficiency in shell scripting such as Bash.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding and review tools with appropriate testing and validation practices.
- Hands-on experience using GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for issue tracking, planning, and documentation.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with flexibility to adjust working hours across time zones.
- Experience with SAS programming or SAS language, tools, or development environments is an additional competency.
- Experience with TypeScript and JavaScript, CI/CD pipelines, or an additional spoken language is a plus.
