Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end quality engineering activities across multiple product teams for complex Java enterprise applications and scalable microservices.
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive functional, regression, integration, smoke, API, and selective manual testing strategies.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium, RestAssured, Cucumber, TestNG, and Java.
- Use AI code assist tools to improve test design, automation code quality, script development, and coverage.
- Create risk-based, data-driven test scenarios aligned with business workflows and investment banking processes where applicable.
- Coordinate defect validation, prioritization, resolution tracking, and quality metric reporting.
- Implement scalable test data and environment management practices for stable parallel test execution.
- Monitor defect density, test coverage, automation effectiveness, and release readiness, translating findings into improvements.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, analysts, operations specialists, and specialist quality teams.
- Promote behavior-driven testing with Cucumber and shared quality ownership across business and technology teams.
- Advocate for performance, reliability, security, and usability considerations in test strategy.
- Document test approaches, automation standards, reusable assets, and quality engineering best practices.
- Mentor peers and drive continuous improvement in automation and defect prevention.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in software testing and quality engineering, including complex enterprise applications and large-scale integrations.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and strong experience building, maintaining, and debugging test automation frameworks.
- Proven experience with Selenium for UI testing and RestAssured for API validation.
- Practical expertise with Cucumber, including expressive scenarios, reusable step definitions, and integration with TestNG or similar test runners.
- Solid TestNG experience covering suite configuration, parallel execution, data-driven testing, and test reporting.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into continuous integration pipelines and embedding quality checks throughout delivery.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills for working with distributed global teams.
- Investment banking knowledge involving trade lifecycle, settlements, reconciliation, or risk checks is a bonus.
- ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer or equivalent software quality engineering and automation certification is good to have.
- Must work from the office during a day shift and coordinate with distributed teams using virtual collaboration tools; no travel is required.
